Karoussos Fanis
Fanis Karousos was born in Heraklion, Crete in September 1977. With Asia Minor roots he raised in Crete. During his studies in Music Technology and Acoustics in Rethymno, he got involved with the Santuri studies. In 2008 he moves to Paris, where he tries to expand his musical world and acquires knowledge and ends up collaborating with actors such as Unesco, the Louvre Museum, the Cite de la Musique, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Institut de Monde Arabe, the DEMOS projet the corresponding Frenchman El Systema, where he remains a permanent collaborator as a musician, educator and composer.
He transferred his base to Crete from 2016 to teach the Santouri on the island of Crete where the instrument has disappeared since 1957.
He composes music for films as well as for Greek and foreign discography.
